Well off to bed - I think

Tired little bunny now so off to bed - hope tomorrow is an easy day as I will be tired. Some kind of meeting onWed but I was not really paying too much attention so no idea what it is about other than some of the DCHU staff are coming.

Spoke online to a guy called Anthony earlier - seems a nice guy.

Will wait and see - he gave me his number - might meet for a meal

Try out of Microsoft Word Plugin

This post is a sort of trial post as I have downloaded the Blog plugin for Microsoft word -  lets see what happens when I press the publish button.

I am currently listening to “The Return Of The Champions” which is the new live Queen +Paul Rodgers album.  When I say listening I mean to the first of the 2 cd’s as it is all I have been able to get from a friend -  the thing is not officially released yet.

So far it sounds great and brings back happy memories of that night in Sheffield.

Holidays Are A Coming

I go on holiday this Friday to Cornwall to see Neil, Greg and Kane [my beautiful god son]. Then I am off to Europe with Del, Geo and Jim Pawson. The off to Wales for the Queen convention [ drunken oblivion].

Prob wont be many more posts before the end of September.

I have been seeing a guy lately called Rob - He is nice but a bit quiet. I ma at the scard stage now as I have not felt as if I wanted a relationship with anyone for a long time but now I do want one. I keep my fingers crossed but hey, if it goes nowhere then at least I tried.

Happy Birthday Freddie - When I Look, And I Find, I Still Love You!!!!

Freddie Mercury would have been 59 today.

Just when I thought it was safe......

Hell, escape from hell has been a sucess - only to be posted to Motherwell Area Control Room....Well, at least it aint N div in real terms!!!!!!!!
Yes, thats right - Another post - Its a miracle really....

I flew into London on 16th August for 2 days - primarily to see the We Will Rock You Musical with friends - I was only going because Brian and Rgoer were there and there was a slight chance that they may play something. In the end they did not play but the accepted some awards and made some speeches.

On arrival in London I called up Jamie [From the tour ] WWW.LIVEJOURNAL.COM/USERS/MYPRETTYCABINET [refers] and we went for lunch. We ate in Garfunkels in Tottenham Court Road. It was ok, nothing special.

After that we went for a walk and ended up walking to Hyde Park and lay out under the trees at the same spot where we had queued only 4 weeks earlier to see Queen. We could still see the markings on the ground where the stage had been.

The eather was amazingly warm and it was so easy to forget that you were actually in London [It is not normally easy to forget being in London]. After a while we decided to go to the Diana Memorial Fountail which, cheesyness aside, is actually really pretty and exceptionally relaxing.

We took off our socks and shoes, rolled up our trousers and dipped out feet in like everone else - this is encouraged. To describe it as a fountain is actually incorrect as it is more of a large circular stream with flowing water - very relaxing.

Jamie and I with our feet in the water

Me looking cool as always - complete with rolled up trousers

I made comments about various people - the three homosexual muscle men - obviously foreign and the man in the red shorts. Jamie took a shine to a man reading the same book as she had just read and we both laughed at the couple having the closest thing to sex without actually having sex that you could imagine.

The 3 Homosexuals!!!!!

The couple having sex!!!!!!

We then moved on and I spotted the adonis of the day - Bicycle Boy - hence the title of this post. He was gorgeous and was stripped to his shorts, leab=ning against a tree with his bike beside him. He was obviously a courier taking a break but he knew how gorgeous he was and he knew what I was doing when I went for a closer inspection. A truly gorgeous man and I never even spoke with him!!!!

See, told you he was gorgeous!!!!

After that we moved on as I had to meet with my friend Charles whom I was staying with - it was a shame to leave such a nice place.......

Thanks to Jamie for all the pics of the park.

Ohhh nearly forgot......!!!!!

I start my new job on Monday 22nd August 2005 - have no idea where I will be working as yet but hey, It is away from N Division - thats all that matters.

The BBQ and other ramblings

Dels BBQ was a good day and although I suspect he had a slight inclination that something was a foot, he seemed to enjoy it. I mananged to avoid speaking with Dels father all day which, I imagine, suited him as much as it suited me. His mother wass her usual self and we had a brief conversation.

Fee was ok despite the pain in her leg and hip but her mother was not too well so she left with her husband early on. I spent most of the day speaking with Stewart and also with Fees father - all very interesting.

After it was all over, those of us who were staying, moved into the house and continued the chat and drinking. I eventually went to bed as I was tired and also since one of the other people there, the maid of honour at the forthcoming wedding, was becoming a pain in the arse aand I really could not stand it any longer.

No photos from this event.

So where the hell have I been???

Sorry for the lack of posts but life has been the usual whirlwind of traipsing around Europe and generally just following Queen+Paul Rodgers everwhere.....stalkers of the world unite.

Applied for another job within the Police and I have been succesful - Oh how I love the smell of success. Don't know the start date yet but I will be the supervisor at the new area control roon soon!!!! Yipeeeee

Also, been to Holland and London to see Queen+Paul Rodgers - London was sad as it was the last night of the tour but was made sadder by the fact it was shortly after the London terror attacks and there were 5000 members of the emergency services there.

Going back to London to see We Will Rock You on 17th August with the usual crew - Brian and Roger are there so they may perform. After that - Off to NYC in October to see Queen+Paul Rodgers again with all the usual suspects.

More to follow if my life actually gets remotly interesting again.

Ohhh nearly forget - Off to Dels surprise bbq tomorrow.

Ahhh Finally a post!!!!!

Well its been ages since I posted -  I have done loads but been so busy.  I have been to Brixton to see Queen and Paul Rodgers and then to Paris -  both shows amazing but Paris was that little bit special.  I will post in detail soon as I am currently following the band round the UK and Ireland as I type.  The photo below is of me with Pierre [ with drumstick] and Vern - both whom I met on the tour.  Pierre has a drumstick thrown into the crowd by Roger Taylor at Cardiff.

More to follow eventually.

Oh yes, I have moved house.

Paris - Champions Of The World

Paris Photo Link @ http://www.imagestation.com/album/index.html?id=2128710559

Queued from 1pm (same as Brixton) and there were more people in the queue compared to Brixton! Just wanna say hi and thanks to everyone we met in the queue (Zak, Vern, Julie, the american girl and her husband and the French people- sorry for our awful French!!) who made the time go by quickly and also hi to beansontoast who we met afterwards!! See you all again soon! The set list was:Reachin OutTie Your Mother Down - Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love - I Want To Break Free (again mostly sung by the crowd) - Fat Bottomed Girls - Crazy Little Thing Called Love (Paul on acoustic guitar) - Seagull (Roger on Bongos again- right in front of me on the sub stage wearing white pin stripe trousers- this man is Old and Flabby...!!! lol Sarah) - '39 (Brian -Mis francais est la meme que before. C’est un peu crap") - Love Of My Life - Hammer To Fall -- A Little Bit Of Love - I’m In Love With My Car (Roger on vocals + drums- messed up the words again!! Bless him!) - Guitar Solo feat.Brighton Rock + Last Horizon - These Are The Days Of Our Lives (Roger doing the fantastic ‘no change’ pointing at Brian’s hair again and a brilliant ‘Oh yeah’ at the end)- Radio Ga Ga - I Want It All (Paul on vocals this time- it rocked again!!!!!!!!!!!!!) - A Kind Of Magic - Feel Like Making Love - Bohemian Rhapsody - The Show Must Go On - All Right Now (Paul read out a banner saying ‘Roger, your angel is here’ then starting singing it in the song!LOL!) - We Will Rock You (Extra little bit of drumming at one point during the song- BRILLIANT!!!) - We Are The Champions - God Save The Queen (Roger threw the drumsticks in the air but didn’t quite manage to catch them and they went flying towards the drumkits and he hoped nobody saw but Paul was laughing at him which made Roger laugh!)The show was amazing- crowd were better than at Brixton and the band were more relaxed. We were front row centre stage - amazing.

Ok- now back from London and Paris and I am sooooooooooooooo tired. I have copied and edited Sarahs Post so this is not entirrley mine but it sums up the gist of the trip to London then to Paris.

Finished work at 0600hrs and drove to Derek's where I left the car and he gave me a lift to the airport. My flight from Glasgow actually got in early and Sarah, Becky, Rosie and Cat were waiting on me when I touched down in Bristol so I got into the car and off we went to London!

Sarah had to put up with a series of ‘Roger is an old man’ jokes from Becky., Cat,Rosie and myself all the way! LOL! I went to sleep for a bit as I was tired, coming straight from a night shift.

Made it to Brixton by 1 and parked in a very dodgy area with free parking and walked to the Academy. By 1.30 when we arrived there were only about 20 people in front of us- thought there would be more of a queue! We all ate our packed lunches- LOL!

Trina and Jenny arrived about 2 to join us in the queue and the Old man Roger jokes were still going! Sarah danced to ‘Is this the way to Amerillo’ on my iPod and got some very odd looks. Paul Rodgers arrived and we didn’t see him so Trina and Sarah decided to go down and wait by the back door to see if we could see Roger arrive.

Brian arrived first and I shouted good luck Brian as he drove past Sarah and he stuck his thumb up at her. Next to arrive was Jamie Moses then ROGER!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH! [Sarah goes mad] He rushed in but did give the girls a quick wave! He was dressed in a black hat and coat so no wonder they couldn’t see him through the tinted windows of the car!

More queuing- boredom! Managed to get in and buy a wrist band for Mercury Phoenix Trust @ 3 pounds. Finally got let in at 7pm and because of the bag check and the way they split the queue in two and let the other queue in slightly before us, we only got in the second row which was fine as I could still hold on to the barrier and I could easily see over Katherine and her husband in front of us! On saying that it was virtually froont row as we were so close to them and had an unobstructed view. We had found out from the nice bouncer outside that Queen were due to come on at 8.45 so we had to stand waiting in the boiling hot crowd waiting for nearly 2 hours. My legs were hurting so much!!! The lights changed a bit at 8.20 and some quiet music came on- everyone went mad but it turned out to be ‘Track 13′ from the Made in Heaven album which lasts for 22 minutes. Not sure if that went down very well- maybe a shorter version of it would be a good idea- there was lots of shouting from the crowd saying ‘get on with it’!!! So at 8.45 they were ready to go and all we got was Eminen- Lose yourself- turns out this is the song they were using the start the show!! LOL! Paul appeared from behind the curtain and sang a small bit of Reaching out which is an old charity single from 1991 which Paul and Brian played on, then Brian appears and Tie your mother down starting rocking- The set list was:
Reaching Out (Paul Rodgers solo)Tie Your Mother DownLittle Bit Of LoveI Want To Break Free (mostly sung by the crowd!!!!)Fat Bottomed Girls- brilliant- PR: Are there any fat bottomed girls here tonight?Crazy Little Thing Called Love- Paul on the guitar like Freddie used to do!—————Seagull (Paul Rodgers - acoustic guitar then half way through Roger walks down and starts playing the bongos- this was the most amazing thing Sarah has ever seen and almost died screaming!!)‘39 (Brian May vocals/acoustic)Love Of My Life (BM vocals/acoustic- empty stool next to him - maybe coz Freddie and him used to do this together sitting on stools at the front)Hammer To Fall (Slow version to start with Brian singing then Paul comes back on stage and rocks to the fast version)—————Guitar Solo- Brian stands on a high bit at the back of the stage in front of a big video screen with fast moving images of London on which goes past WWRY and ends up on the roof of Buckingham Palace)Last Horizon (Fantastic blue lights!!)

These are the day of our lives (Roger comes down the front in a white shirt with the symbol on the back and sings- When singing the ‘No change’ bit, he points at Brian’s hair!! LOL)Radio Ga Ga (Roger still down the front sings the first two verses with drums on backing track then Paul sings last verse as Roger goes back to drum)Can’t Get Enough Of Your LoveI’m In Love With My Car (Roger singing from the drums- messes up some of the words!)I Want It All (Brian sings) - A Kind Of Magic- sung by Paul- rainbow lights- cool!Bohemian Rhapsody (Freddie on the video screen singing- Paul sang rock bit at the end- Sarah didn’t even notice as she was head banging so much!) The Show Must Go On—————Feel Like Makin’ Love - All Right Now (Brilliant!)—————We Will Rock You (Paul looked at the words every 2 seconds to make sure he got this one right!!)We Are The Champions God save the Queen.

After all that we stalked for a while then headed off to the car via the Tube station with a foreign girl who had no idea where she was after the concert and wanted to meet Brian - If she had not gone with us then she would have been stuck in Brixton al night...NOT GOOD!!!!

Oh yes, met loads of people and some new ones - also saw the Tunney's ....AGAIN.

Home about 4 AM and straight to bed.

Ok -Snap back to reality, ooops there goes gravity....Back to work tonight for three wonderful night shifts...Do I sound genuine???

No more news....

Va Va Voom..............

Just been out for a ride on the bikes with George - Derek could not make it as his bike was in gettng serviced and the guy droped something on the tank - he is collecting it as I type but too late to go out as we all have other things to do.

Looking through photos I have taken and I found this one of the twin towers in New York. I took this in September 1999. Who would have thought that only 2 years later these would be gone.......

Panic...................

Woke at at 0830 and immediately went into a panic as I had forgotten where I had put the Queen tickets when cleaning the spare room out the other day. After a frantic 10 minute search I found them in my bedroom where I had put them for safe keeping.

Only 3 days to go until the start of the tour - I will be shattered as I am flying down straight off a night shift but hey, who cares...I will be seeing the biggest band on the planet and be with some of my friends - what more can I ask for?????

Talk......I Never Thought He Would Stop!!!!!!!!!

Just off the phone to Shaun [The Sheep] - boy can he talk - the usual incessant, but funny, pish about his rather wierd collection of colourful underwear - long story involving a female and some Bart Simpson boxer shorts......

Not going to gym tomorrow as I have to do some more stuff re new house and then hopefully Del and Fee are coming over for a while prior to me going on night shift.

Meeting Sean on Sundat at 5pm at the gym.

Also spoke with potential new guy [Michael] and will see him Sat night for a while before I go Night Shift.

Going to bed now......

Good Album!!!!

Listening to the Live Black Sabbath album "Live Evil" - It is post Ozzy so has Ronnie James Dio on vocals - I always preferred him to Ozzy.

This is a supeb album - totally forgot just how good RJD is as a vocalist.

Roger Taylor and Mystery Girlfriend....
Posted by Gavin Ross

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Sarah You Are Mad!!!!!!!!!!

My friend Sarah [Mad as a hatter - much worse than me] is a Roger Taylor stalker and has been known to drag her friends to stand outside his house for hours on end for no other reason than to say that she has been there - Anyway, the point is, Roger has a new girlfriend and it is not Sarah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will she cope - I dont think so.

Check www.gettyimages.com and search under entertainment for Roger Taylor - the ones at Fancourt, South Africa.

Also check out Sarahs excellent Stalking site at www.girlonfire.co.uk

Oh Shit - I Have Bought Another House

Well, the man from the estate agency came and after some discussion he reconed that I should market the house for ofers over £90,000. The first thing I did was go and see the potential new property first. After a slight argument [ not like me...LOL] I left again to think about things - phoned Fee and told her - she thinks I should buy it.

Went home, watched tv - went back and bought the new house providing that they part exchange the current house - I need in the region of £87,000 max for this to work.

Went home, called George and told hi the news - went to see Derek and took Archie for a walk. Had dinner with Derek and then came home. Called parents and told them - now I am panicking.

I have to go tomorrow and complete some more paperwork - I have paid £500 and if I draw out of this then I lose £250 of the money.

Waiting!!!!!!!!!!!!

The man should be here any minute now to value the house - hope it is close to what I need for the purchase of the new house..........

Morning!!!

Woke at 0500 this morning and was about to get up as I did not feel tired - however, I managed to drift off again and woke at 0830. Went to the supermarket to get some basics and also had a look at the houses that had recently sold in this area - most were 3 bed semi-detacheds so were within the price frame I was interested in.

Waiting for the man from the estate agency to arrive and value the house - he is due at 10.am

Bed Time - Nearly

Man coming at 10 this morning to Value the house - then off to the Prospective New House...Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh do I buy this????

Off To Bed..

Poor Michael - Much as I think the guy is wierd I SERIOUSLY don't think he is a Kiddie Fiddler....Hope I am not proven wrong.

Where To Start................

The beginning is a good place but since I am 37 it would take forever to write everything that has happened. Basically all you need to know is that I was born and I am here now.

Ok, so today - Got up around 0830Hrs and had some breakfast and then a shower. Made my way into town where I met my friend Shaun and we went to the gym. Shaun is one fit guy and he really makes me work at the gym - hopefully the rewards of this will pay off soon as I really need to do something about my fitness.

After the gym, Shaun had to work. I went to meet my friend Ian for lunch. I had not seen Ian for about 6 months so we went to Dalucianos in Bothwell and had a good chat for a couple of hours.

Later I went to visit Bryan and Lauren in Coatbridge and took the time to llok at the possible new house I am thinking of buying.

Camr home, called Shaun to cancel going to the gym tomorrow - he has a date on Friday so wont be going then either - maybe over the weekend.

Now pottering around on here.
